CALPI's offices are located in the city of Bluefields, in the Southern Atlantic Autonomous Region (RAAS) of Nicaragua.. CALPI is coordinated by Doctor María Luisa Acosta, a lawyer specializing in indigenous and environmental rights. CALPI  provides legal advice to the indigenous and ethnic communities of Monkey Point, Rama, Pearl Lagoon, Kahkavila, Awas, Set Net Point, Raitipura, Brown Bank, and Marshall Point in cases of traditional land ownership.
